Municipal Beaches in Barcelona
The beaches of Barcelona are among the Top Barcelona Attractions in the Summer.
The nearest beaches are about 15 minutes on foot or by metro from the city centre. The swimming season is from mid-April to early October. The sea water temperature is most comfortable for swimming from around end of May.
Nine Barcelona Mediterranean beaches are long 4.5km.
A few years ago Barcelona was awarded the Best Beach City in the World by the famous National Geographic Magazine.
The best beaches are to the right side from the Port Olimpic as it is not so crowded and there are not so many people as in the Barceloneta or Somorrostro.
